[vpn-help] Assertion `type == PTHREAD_MUTEX_ERRORCHECK_NP'

After installing ike on Ubuntu 13.04+ (including 15.04) I am receiving an
error upon immediately starting iked:

$ sudo iked
iked: pthread_mutex_unlock.c:87: __pthread_mutex_unlock_usercnt: Assertion
`type == PTHREAD_MUTEX_ERRORCHECK_NP' failed.


I have tried the package in Ubuntu and downloading the source, same results.


$ lsb_release -a
No LSB modules are available.

$ uname -a
