[vpn-help] Does Shrew Soft VPN do what I want?

Before I get into bothering everyone with my specific problems, does the
Shrew Soft VPN software do what I am looking to do?  I am in a bit over my
head here, but hey... how else does one learn?

I currently have Netgear FVS338s at two locations. I have them configured to
provide a VPN between the two locations. Everything has been running fine
for a year or so and the two networks see other perfectly.

I now want to expand my ability to see each end of the network from a laptop
while traveling. I have been using the Hamachi product that does a good job
of connecting computers (Hamachi requires their software on both sided of
the tunnel) but not non-computer devices or the network as a whole. I would
like to be able to establish a link from my remote laptop and the router so
I can see the home network just like with the FVS338-FVS338 VPN.

Am I using the right product?
