All,

A new Beta version of the The Shrew Soft VPN client is now
available for download. Changes include fixes for a few critical bugs
identified shortly after the last release, many minor bug fixes and full
support for delete payload handling. This release is definitely the most
stable and functional to date, so please upgrade any previous
installations. For a complete list of known issues, features and
requirements, please review the updated howto document available from
the download page.

This client software is freeware. When coupled with a vpn gateway
running ipsec-tools, it can be used as an alternative to expensive
commercial vpn gateway solutions that support win32 clients. While this
software does include advanced features such as Nat Traversal, IKE
Fragmentation, Packet Pre Fragmentation, Hybrid XAuth and automatic
client configuration, it is still missing some options that are
available in the more popular commercial products. For example, if your
remote access needs include support for split DNS or stateful client
side firewall, this software may not be a good fit for your environment.
