All,

I just posted a new 2.1.0 alpha 8 release on the website. Moving down
the todo list, lots of new changes are included. This release implements
support for persistent IPSEC SAs. RSA keys and certificate data is now
encapsulated in exported site configuration files. Import and Export is
now available on unix targets. Lastly, configuration format versions
have been implemented which allows them to be updated automatically when
required. Of course there is the usual glut of bug fixes and minor
changes. Please see the release changelogs on the download page for more
detail.

As always, I very much appreciate all the bug reports and feedback list
members have been submitting. This has a very positive impact on the
development process and I thank you all. I also applied the second ever
user submitted patch this week. It was submitted by CJ Kucera to fix a
bug in the QT gui on unix. Nice work!

I have about two weeks left before my 6 week vacation. The original plan
was to have 2.1.0 out the door but that was obviously a bit too
optimistic. The new plan is to have all the feature work done with all
items on the todo list completed or reassigned to a later release. This
will allow for a beta release or two before I depart. My laptop will be
accompanying me on my travels so I should be available intermittently to
answer questions on the list and triage bug reports. Beyond that I won't
be good for much. In any case, we should be able to get 2.1.0 release
out sometime in late April or early May.

Thanks,

-Matthew
