Matthew,
Thanks for the follow up. I ended up figuring it out. It was a local
problem with the firewall on the NAS server itself. Once I allowed the VPN
ip's to connect it worked like a charm. Thanks for the help.

I'm not sure. Are you running the latest version of firmware on the
Netgear? Can you provide some log output?
