Indeed it worked. It took a long time to install the service vflt.

It is a known issue,

You need to reinstall Shrew.

Problem:

The VPN client fails to connect my Residential gateway (cable modem Ubee
Ambit EVW320B)  since I upgraded from Windows 8 to 8.1. This happens on a
Windows Pro 8.1 32 bit, Windows Pro 8.1 64 bit and Windows 8.1 64 bit. On a
Windows XP Sp3 it works fine to the same gateway.

 

To reproduce:

 

Connect to any modem using Windows 8.1

 

VPN Client version = 2.2.2. Windows

Windows OS Version = Windows 8.1 64 bit

Gateway make/model = Ubee Ambit Evw320B

Gateway Software version = 9.9.5012
