Problem:

VPN Client 2.2.2 installs successfully, but the Shrew Soft Virtual Adapter
will not start.

* Device Manager reports the following status: "This device is not working
properly because Windows cannot load the drivers required for this device.
(Code 31)"

* No virtual adapter appears in the Network Connections

* VPN connection fails as follows:

config loaded for site 'Office'

attached to key daemon ...

peer configured

iskamp proposal configured

esp proposal configured

client configured

local id configured

remote id configured

pre-shared key configured

bringing up tunnel ...

adapter configuration failed

tunnel disabled

detached from key daemon

Each connection attempt adds a new Shrew Soft Virtual Adapter to Device
Manager.

Environment:

* VPN Client Version: 2.2.2

* OS: Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit

Resolution steps already attempted:

* Uninstall (including manual removal of virtualnet.sys) and reinstall
software.

* Upgrade wireless adapter driver (Intel Centrino Advanced-N 6230).

Any other suggestions would be very much appreciated. Please let me know if
you need any further information.

Regards

Dan Lambert
