  maybe I'm being too fussy here, but multiple extension suffixes for a
shared object are a bit unusual (in the Linux world, at least).
Although this naming scheme is perfectly legal (it is sometimes used for
version numbers, as in "libcidn-2.8.90.so"), I feel you might be better
off with a more common "libss_idb.so".
