In a perfect world, mailman would offer a per-member option so that 
individuals could decide if they want their email address to remain 
anonymous. I'm already a little put off by having to read through the 
message body to determine who is posting a reply to a thread. That said, 
this list is here to be useful to its members so my opinion should 
probably be counted last.

One other problem to note is that even with this option enabled, member 
email addresses can be seen by browsing through the mailman interface. 
There is a per-member option to remove yourself from this public list, 
but you have to really search to find it. A spammer could still become a 
member and then scrape email addresses using that web page.

In any case, does anyone else have a strong preference?
