Kenny,
I'm not familiar with any build problems on Debian. Unfortunately I
don't currently have a Debian system setup in my lab for build tests.
Have you looked at the pre-built 2.1.4 packages for the upcoming "Lenny"
release?
http://ftp.debian.org/debian/pool/main/i/ike/
Perhaps you can have a look them to see if the source is being patched.
BTW, three cheers for Philipp Matthias Hahn who is doing a fabulous job
of maintaining the packages on that platform!
