Hi Simon,
In addition to Christian's advice above about using the Shrew virtual
adapter, I'd also recommend trying the Shrew 2.2.0beta2. The 2.2.0
codebase contains a number of changes related to Windows 7, some of
which may include better interaction with the Windows firewall.
