Hi Andrew,

I see that you posted a patch not too long ago to try and get iked to 
work with the updated resolver configuration. Thanks for that. So if I 
understand you correctly, it's difficult to detect when the new dns 
resolver is being used ( /bin/resolvconf ) or the old resolver which 
reads /etc/resolv.conf, correct? I wonder how other software packages 
that interact with the resolver handle this situation? OpenVPN and vpnc 
would have the same issue. Do they use a static configuration as you 
suggest or do they use another method to detect ( at run time ) which 
resolver is in use?

To be honest, I haven't used a system that is configured by resolvconf. 
Which version of Ubuntu are you running? Did you need to install any 
additional packages to get this behavior, or is it now part of the base 
distribution?
