[vpn-help] unable to unstall 2.2.2 on windows 8.1

Greetings,

v2.2.2, symptoms are same running directly as user or running as
administrator.

steps:
start the install app, select standard install
accept default options and install directory,
installs files, but fails installing the networking component.
   message is Error 0x8007000d: Couldn't install the network component.
Possible cause: the data is invalid
Then select OK
next message is Device Add Failure, installSelectedDriver failed, error
code = 0x00000006
Then select OK
icons are created, but no device driver is installed, therefore cannot
proceed.
