[vpn-help] Negotiation timeout Standard Client 2.2.2

I have installed the Shrewsoft VPN standard client v2.2.2 on two machines with Windows 7 32-bit Enterprise edition. In both cases the user had administrator rights over the local machine and in both cases a pop up window got displayed twice during the installation with the title "Driver Install Error" and a further message saying "The driver package is compatible with your version of windows".

The installation was completed and the machines restarted.

One of the machines connects to the VPN destination and is authenticated but the other machine is not. I have checked and double checked the settings in the client and they are correct. The messages that display during the connection are pasted below (IP number has been changed).

I have tried uninstalling (same error as above twice during the uninstall) and re-installing as administrator (and the error twice again) but I still get the failure to connect.

I have checked on the internet for possible issues/solutions and the references to the WAN miniport adaptor doesn't seem applicable as the machine doesn't have one, and v2.2.2 I read has overcome this. The other issue I could see was about network filters and I have doubled the default number to be on the safe side.

The only other thing is the machine does have the Cisco VPN client installed (not running), but so did the machine where it worked.

Any Ideas?
