[vpn-help] Found a way to install on Win7, virtual adapter errors before

Hi,

 

i just wanted to share my experience. I tried to install Shrew Soft 2.1.7 on
my Win 7 64bit, but it failed

with "Error 0x8004a029 - couldn't install network component". After some
googleing I found out that

too many network filters may cause the problem. I had a VPN Software from
AVM Fritz!Box installed.

I deinstalled that one, along with all my other VPN clients (cisco and
openvpn) and restarted my PC.

After this I managed to avoid the first error, but a new one popped up at
the same installation step:

"iphlpsvc.dll currently holds the lock, try again later"

I already had the feeling that this must be the shitty comodo firewall Ive
got on my system. After

I disabled and exited that one the installation went smoothly.

 

Hope this helps if anybody runs into similar problems.
